Warp & sytps115
On top of the problems I reported yesterday regarding Warp's
implementation of APM, an even uglier bug appeared last night
as I upgraded to BIOS version 1.15: my 360 can no longer run
at SVGA resolution.
The actual BIOS upgrade went just fine, and the machine passed
all the system tests (including video) which IBM requests that you
run immediately after performing such an upgrade. Upon restarting
Warp, however, the video was scrambled, corrupted, beavered-up.
I recovered by pressing ALT-F1 at boot-up and proceeded to specify
generic VGA video, which allowed the machine to work normally. I
then reinstalled the SVGA drivers through selective install and
experienced the same scrambled display upon system restart.
So....
Looks like I'll be talking to my friends at IBM again today. In the
meantime, my advice to those of you running Warp is to avoid sytps115.
P.S.
Regarding Warp and APM, Wesley Dunaway wrote:
"Suspend completely locks up the system, necessitating the use of the reset
button. I use a PCMCIA modem (Intel). I called IBM with a few other
concerns today and the guy I talked to didn't know what I was talking about."

This was my experience as well, but I'm gonna try again today. If anyone
gets some answers, please clue us in!
