  Possible, but not necessarily. My desktop machine has 16M in is and I 
used to get a memory parity error if I really pushed the system hard. But 
it didn't start up till over 6 months after I put the new chips in.
  Turned out to be a freaky Windows problem. (Is there any other kind?) 
If I did a clean Windows install and ran all the same apps, no error. No 
tester ever found the problem (though I stopped short of taking them out 
and having them properly tested). And now that I've dumped Windows and 
went to OS2 on that machine, I have had no problems. <shrug>
  So if the problem persists, you could (ick) try a total re-install of 
your programs and copy back your data files.
