Probably not an MWAVE problem, as I have encountered it with other
modems ... Seems some European phone switches do not generate dial
tones of quite the precision that we're accustomed to in North
America, such that the modem circuitry doesn't recognize the tone.
Workaround: Sorry, it's a while since I've done this, and I don't
have a Hayes command summary handy, but there's a small modification
to the dialing prefix that bypasses the dial tone check -- should
be easy to find in your MWAVE manual.
