96MB on powerpc thinkpads
It gets up to 96MB because you can get 32MB builtin and it has TWO IC
DRAM sockets which have to have the same size cards in them for some
reason. So 32 + two 32MB dram's gives you 96. Does anyone remember the
reason why they went down from two sockets on the 700 and 720 to only one
on the 750 and up? From what I recall it was not related to saving
battery life but had something to do with the difficulty in adding the
circuitry to address two dram cards on the 486 motherboard.
