Yo!
 The screen dimming on battery power is well documented.
There is a fix which is using the PS2 command or whatever
it's called, with the BR eco or br normal switch, like

PS2 set br norm


By the way, my 720C is a broke piece of shit, after 3
visits to IBM repoair I'm not gonna try revive it anymore .
5K$ down the drain.
