SAN JOSE, Calif., April 15 (Reuter) - International
Business Machines Corp. said Monday it was introducing
magnetic disk drive products that exceed one billion bits of
data in a square inch of disk space.

The company said its new two-disk, 12.5 millimetre
Travelstar 3LP offers a choice of 1.44 gigabyte or 1.08
gigabyte capacities.

There's also supposed to be 2+GB 17mm 2.5" drives in the same
timeframe (this June). IBM says they can make 4GB 17mm drives,
but doesn't see a big market for them.
