I don't know what your serial port limit is, but make sure your software is
setup to use hardware flow control (may be called 7-wire) instead of ^s ^q
(XON-XOFF)
and that your serial cable has enough wires hooked up (ie 7) to handle it.
Some serial cables only have 3 wires actually hooked up even though the
connector
is 9 or 25 pin.
