760CD Windows and network card woes
I have a 760CD which I have set up for multi-boot with win95 and 3.1.
Overall I am pleased with the performance of this machine until I put
in the PCMCIA network card.
When I am in win3.1, as long as I have the AC connected all is fine, but
when I go on battery power I get a frozen pointer and the machine hangs.
I can resume by hooking up the AC and removing the PCMCIA network card
and re-seating it. This isn't a problem because I usually have the AC on
when I'm on the network.
My main problem is when I'm running win95. Even when I am on AC, I get the
same frozen pointer and I can resume by re-seating the network card (I lose
any connections I may have had!), but after I do this I will be able to work
for a short time and have to go through it all over again. It seems to
happen more often when I am charging a battery rather than having a 100%
battery in the machine.
I have upgraded every driver and the BIOS to the latest ones and am still
having problems. I hope that someone out there can help. I really don't
like regretting the purchase of this machine.
Thanks,
Bob
