Thinkpad service: a counter example



Just to add another data point to whether IBM support is getting worse or
not, My 2.8 year old 750 mono had a massive seizure on Monday.  After some
waiting on hold, I got through to Easyserve that day.  They offered to send
a box, but because Monday was a Fedex holiday, I decided to box it myself.
I sent it to Memphis on Tuesday morning, it presumably got there on
Wednesday, and sent it back to me with a new system board, clean screen and
keyboard, and new trackpoint rubber on Thursday.  It arrived today.  Still
warranteed after all these years.

I'm pretty satisfied.  The service is pretty similar to what I got when the
LCD "went south" two years ago.

Just another data point.
