Re: No Subject (TP701 HD-Caddies)
greetings to all butterflies (and owners):
the butterfly 3rd-party hard drive discussion has been going
on for a while, and i can't remember any practical solution.
then this:
>We are much closer to having a proprietary caddy for the 701. It is being
>tooled right now and a couple of beta units have come off the line. Should
>be another 4 weeks or so.
>
>I'm not sure if we will sell the caddy seperately, but we'll cross that
>bridge when we get there.
i really appreciate this, since i am daily scouring my 360MB
drive for useless readme.txt's and such to delete...
one (set of) question(s): is there any firm information (or a
well phrased rumor) on
a) the types of drives the bios will recognise, and
b) if all of the current functions will work, e.g.: automatic
spin down, automatic creation of the Tp 701.hib-file by bios, and
c) what the energy and noise levels of hard drives in question
are like: will my ears fall off, or will my battery life decrease
measurably?
oh, and will the outer casing part have the "look and feel" of
the ibm-original?
