Not sure if I'm answering the question you're asking (since I'm not sure
what question you're asking :-), but last I checked, 24 pixels was the magic
number. 23 bad/broken pixels == no problem as far as they're concerned.
24 pixles and suddenly it's covered.

I had this bright whiteish pixel smack in the middle of the screen, and it
was a real distraction. The guy at IBM tried to use the logic "but there
are 480,000 pixels... you can't expect them all to be perfect". Ooooh, yes
I can! It's like saying "the price is 800,000 cents -- you can't expect
me to pay them all!". Sheeze.

Anyway, my solution to getting it fixed was to drop it down a flight of
steps and pay $2,000 for repairs. In the process, my bright distracting
pixel was moved to the edge of the screen, and made a more subtle light
blue. Much less distracting.
