using Iomega JAZ drive with thinkpad (755ce wfwg 3.11)

i bought a JAZ (external) drive a while back. great concept. removeable 1GB
drive cartridges, small footprint and not too heavy, and an international
powerpack. bought it and used it in the u.s. and when i came back to australia
i just switched power cords (i prefer cords made for 240v rather than adapters).

when it has worked it has worked nicely, in the u.s. and in aus. for backups
and for running programs when the drive is made 'non-removeable'.

problem: i now seem to be getting a 'no devices found' message for everything
i try. been through all the basics many times: pcmcia card well seated, all
connections (seem) very solid, JAZ drive turned on, SCSI terminator light on,
disk spinning, then i start up the machine and the same problem...no devices
found.

beginning to wonder if my pcmcia card is okay.

i have the following:

tp 755ce, 16mb ram, 840 hdd, wfwg 3.11, new media bustoaster SCSI pcmcia card,
corel drivers and Iomega drivers.

suggestions welcome!

regards, al
