First, if you do not tilt the keyboar, then the whole keyboard gives as you
type on it, which I found very uneasy (I preferred tiling it, but the machine
is quieter with it down.

You say you "don't think that the keyboard angle has anything to do with
cooling", but you don't say why you think that.

The big difference between tiliting the keybaord and putting legs up on the
machine is that the former keeps the bottom of
the machine in contact with the desktop even if the keybaord is tilted.
Dpeending on the terhmal conductivity properties of the desktop, this may
improve or hurt cooling (one data point, my Tecra certainly cools better if
the legs are NOT used on a formica top desk.
