XJEM3288 Modem Problem

Hi--I've got a new XMEM3288 Megahertz modem on my t-pad 560, which
came installed with Win95.  

I can't make it dial from an old dos favorite, ProComm Plus 2.1, or
from ProComm Plus for Windows (3.1)--

Am I missing something (ProComm 2.1 for Windows doesn't list this
modem so I selected one that sounded similar)?  Neither of these
programs seems to be able to find the modem, even though I've told
them it's on com 1.  

I imagine I'll have the same problem with Quicken for dos--

The modem works fine with dial-up networking and I'd love to have it
work with the dos programs, not just because I hate to have to
buy new programs, but because I really like the dos stuff.
