These hinted fonts are completely useless in small sizes on the screen.
The hinting process for say Adobe type 1 fonts is only efffective if
you are on a decent sized grid. Rememebr that on a typical laser, even
at 8 points, you have a FAR bigger grid than a screen.

So the true type fonts in Windows look perfectly horrible in the small
sizes. The only acceoptale approach if you are talking about small grids,
e.g. 6 x 8 or 6 x 10, is bit mapped fonts designed as display fonts for
these sizes.
