I don't know what to say--I have had some trouble getting the 701C's
IR port to be recognized by LapLink Win (under Win 95), but the 560 I
got--no problem! In the "system devices" box, it looks like a plain 'ol COM
port. Its set as Com 2, physical port is Com 1, and my modem is Com 3.
Maybe its no the 560 you have a problem with, but whatever machine
you're trying to get the 560 to talk to?
All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised at how simple &
easy it was to get the 560 to "speak" IR under Win 95, compared to the
trouble I had with the 701C.
I think you might want to install the IR drivers--either get them
from the IBM web site or make it using the diskette factory thingies.
