hello to the group
I recently (5 weeks) purchased a TP760ED. The only options I could get, due to
budgets and what not, was an additional 8 megs, and a Xircom Ethernet adapter.
I must say that I enjoy working with the machine so far excaept for the mushy
keyboard(when I type i miss a lot of spaces and o's). I use Dragon Dictate
V2.0 and it work fine except that the modem cannot be used at the same time as
the microphone.
Anyway I have been watching the mail from the group for about 7 weeks and
decided it was time to say hi. I do have a question about the heating problem.
I have been running the TP on the desktop since new and noticed that the
underside got very warm. Today i went to move it and I almost burned my
fingers. It was VERY hot on the outside so the internal temp must have been
excessive. I also noticed that late in the afternaoon the voice recognition
got slower and slower. Could be my imagination and have nothing to do with the
heat? Has anyone else noticed a similar problem? Is it curable? Does it
affect the MTBF of the CPU/motherboard/video/???
I now have 4 rubber feet under the machine and a small fan blowing air. The
feet i can live with, the fan is not an option. Any experiences would be
appreciated.
I have one dead pixel. It came that way right out of the box. Top rght corner
so not realy noticable.
Enough for now. I like the info that the group shares and will start to
participate in the future.
