Please Help! negative XMS memory!

Hi,

I wrote ago about some hardware conflicts with the new 32 Meg IC Dram Card
I got for my TP 755CD. I have the Pentium model which uses non-parity
memory. The manufacturer sent me a new card with parity and now I have no
conflicts anymore. However I still have a problem which I believe is
software related...

My system is a Linux/PCdos 7.0/win3.1 configuration. Linux sees all the
memory just fine (X runs REALLY fast now) but windows does not.

1) If I boot into DOS and type MEM, it show I have ~38 Megs XMS memory free.

2) If I type MSD, It says I have 640k conventional ~25 to 27 Megs of
NEGATIVE XMS and extended memory.

3) I then run windows. when I check my system resources I (using
dashboard or msinfo) it says that I have 40 Megs of Ram free but my
RESOURCES are the same as when I only had 8Megs of RAM.

4) So I see how many programs I can open, and sure enough, I hit an out off
memory error after about 6 or 7 major applications.

I don't think it's a bios problem because I can see all 40 Megs of RAM
using easy setup. I aslo ran the diagnostics in easy setup and all the
hardware passed.

What do I do!? Is there some way to set memory parameters in dos so that
win3.1 will use all the memory?

Thanks in advance,
-Mike
