Before I start reinstalling things blindly, I'd ask for advice from those
with more Thinkpad experience than me:
1) My external display (Sony 17sfII) is currently running at 1024x768. The
problem is that, according to the monitor, the display is only running at
60Hz, resulting in some obnoxious flicker effects. I'd like to use a
higher refresh rate if supported.
2) The Thinkpad Features Display panel (under the "Advanced" button) offers
a number of options (resolution and refresh rates), but all of these are
greyed out (inactive). Is this standard behavior?
Settings:
Adapter Type: "IBM ThinkPad(Cyber9320)"
Monitor Type: "SONY Multiscan 17sf"
256 Color
1024 x 768 pixels
Thinkpad Features:
Enhanced Video: disabled
CRT Selected (vs LCD+CRT).
Presentation Mode: Disable
Screen Expansion: Disable
The "selected" resolution in the "Display Advanced Setup" is "640x480", but
all of options are grayed out and I really am currently displaying
1024x768.
I'm most interested in increasing the refresh rate, but I'd like to know
how to activate the "Display Advanced Setup" window as well.
Thanks,
Dan
