Sorry, nothing really to help your plight, but I was told when I looked into the same 
thing on my TP755cx (VGA version) that although it worked under Windows 3.11, 
it wouldn't under OS/2 (both pre-installed).  I'm afraid that I didn't pusue it far 
enough to establish the reasons.
