| I have that set.

So you should have a separate one for your net card, right? In my case, I
have TCP->Olicom... and TCP->3COM Etherlink... and on those two IPs are
assigned; the dialup is dynamic.

The W95 TCP stack is unique. Apparently you can choose either direct or
dialup connect types and W95 will choose the appropriate stack; you can't
have both simultaneously.

| That occurred to me, have you tried using the win95 Hardware Profiles for
| that? Our guy couldn't make that work, but it seemed promising to me.

I use the hardware profiles for Docked (to a Dock I w/ CDROM) and Undocked
but haven't tried it for a non-network setup. W95 can distinguish between
the two setups (Docked/Undocked) but I'm not sure about a 2nd Undocked. My
usual setup is Undocked at work. I only used the Dock when I want to load
something from CD w/o network support (such as the W95 upgrade). I think I
tried to work with hardware profiles early on but gave up for the simple
solution below.

If I don't, it takes longer to boot up and I get a network not found error
from NW Client. It'll work but I can do without the extra hassle. No net
card, no attempt to connect.

I've got my PC card slots without any cover at all, so that I can pop'em
out as needed. I usually leave the net cards and dongles locked up in my
desk unless I happen go to a net accessible site.

|
| That came up too, they don't want to switch the entire office network to
| dynamic IP though.

But for direct connects, you can specify a distinct IP while having a
dynamic one for dialups.
