RE: TP 701C & 560 - scales 320x200 video modes to 640x480?
Steve,
Regarding your question on memory, I got memory for my 701CS a few months
ago from Memory Experts in London (based in Richmond) who are the UK
distributors of CANRAM in Canada. Alas I've lost phone numbers and addresses,
but I've had no problems with this memory. Their prices were very keen - and not
every memory supplier has modules for a 701...
I did try ringing www.thechipmerchant.com - they have a phone number on their
web page, but after spending a lot of money just being 'held' on their
telephone system I gave up. I know thechipmerchant is popular on this list.
cheers,
Andrew.

Subject: TP 701C & 560 - scales 320x200 video modes to 640x480?
Q: Does the IBM Thinkpad 701C scale 320x200 and 320x240 VGA video modes to
full screen 640x480 or 640x400?
Q: Does the Thinkpad 560 scale VGA 320x200, 320x240 and 640x480 modes
up to nearly fill its 800x600 screen?
I have a TP560-120 arriving here in the next few days. Where can I get
batteries for a reasonable price? It will come with 24MB. Where can I
get a good deal on 32MB memory modules for it?
I am basically looking for a light general workhorse machine that is
also a reasonably good DOS game machine. This kind of specialized info
is generally hard to come by, so who better to ask than people who own
the machines in question? =)
