Brett, We are trying to sort these topics out right now.  If you don't have
any PC cards right now then the APM in win95 should be enough.  I started
this thread because I changed from my real mode (16 bit) drivers to the
windows 32 bit drivers only to find that my modem card was not being put to
sleep when I placed my 701C laptop into suspend mode.  I hope more info
will be forth coming...
