RE: TP701CS/Panasonic KXL-783A/WinNT 4.0

Well, I also have 701C with 24M RAM & 540M HDD. I found NT 4.0 is more
stable, even faster (with enough RAM) than Win95 in my desktop PC. So, I
decied to use the same OS in 701. Yes, NT 4.0 does not support 701
hardwares. But, I found video/audio driviers at chips&tech/ESS web sites,
and I eventually got a 701C/NT 4.0 tuned. I have still some problems.
Suspend/resume doesn't work. ( I like to hear other's experience.
Actually, I am suspecting the hardware. ) However, the hibernation works
well. Another problem is the confliction of the video driver &
ZIP-parallel driver. So, I use plain vga (16 colors) when I need the
ZIP-drive.

Stick with Windows95 (especially if you can get a copy of OEM-SR2) and be happy it multitasks, recognises and supports all of the ThinkPad's hardware, and IBM still supports the machine with that OS installed.
