Check out http://accesss1.sun.com/drivers/driverMain.html -- there is
a link to info on the Solaris x86 Notebook Supplement, which discusses
a variety of issues related to running Solaris/x86 on notebooks. The
same page has links to driver updates, which are the most up-to-date
source of info for supported hardware.
I've successfully run both Linux and Solaris/x86 on my 760C, neither
extensively.
I installed both from a SCSI CD-ROM attached to an Adaptec 1542 in
a Dock I. Last I checked, Solaris/x86 could not be installed from a
PCMCIA device.
