750C's WD 90C24 clocks
This information may be useful for TP750 users (as well as any other who
have laptops with WD90C24). Unlike as implied in the Video drivers diskette,
1024x768 at 60Hz is not the maximum refresh rate possible on an external
monitor. The IBM Vesa drivers only let you select up to 60Hz, but the
WD90C24 can be driven safely at 1024x768 at 70Hz using a 74MHz dot clock.
Still a higher clock of 79MHz is supported, which should yield just below
a 72Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, these higher clocks won't be of much
use to non X users.
Regards,
Dave.
