RE: "Recycled" harddisk

The HD connector is "standard" as far a 2.5' ide is concerned. The adapter part to connect to the TP is their own little invention.
Somewhere in the IBM web page (easy to find if they ever fix their search engine)
you can find pinouts and master slave jumper positions.
NOTE: the earlier ones up to and including(?) the 540MB had a different default for master/slave.
The 2.5' to 3.5' adapters have the power connector on the circuit board.
Cost about $8 US and $12Cnd.

Subject: "Recycled" harddisk

I have some spare harddisks for a 755CE wich I would like to install in my kids desktop. Maybe my question has been covered here before but anyway:

1. Is the connector on the IBM harddisk a standard one ? I mean is it just to hook it up on the present harddisk ?
2. Is the IBM disk set up as a master or slave and is it possible to change that ?
3. How do I connect the powercord ?
