I have an Adaptec SlimSCSI that works flawlessly with any SCSI peripheral
I've used--including a couple of CD-ROM drives and a SCSI Zip you mention
(I have a 560).

I'm not aware of it going the other way--I don't *think* you can print
from a PC to an Appletalk printer. I could be wrong though. (I've done it
the other way many times--Mac to a PC printer, but even that had its
shortcomings).

Of course a lack of an L2 cache is going to hurt its performance compared
to one that *does* have one (which the 560's don't). If performance is an
issue, go get a 760 or better yet--don't use a notebook at all. The 560 is
a perfectly good performer for what it is--but there's no mistaking that
its primary function is a light, thin, notebook computer. Such things
don't lend themselves well to speed/performance issues.

Get whatever you want--as long as you have a workable backup that you'll
use. I use a SCSI DAT drive.

I wouldn't do it.
