Re: ThinkPad AC power adapters.




Ditto here.  I just loaded some 760ED's last week, and I was using (gasp!) 
700 adapters in them.  They all seemed to work fine.  I would not recommend 
using them for long term use (the batteries will probably go bad fairly 
quickly), but if just need to plug in to work, I say go for it.

Funny story from IBM.  One of our ordering people was trying to get 
replacement batteries for some 750's.  IBM said to use the ones from the 
755's we have.  We argued with them that they were the wrong shape, and had 
different connectors.  They still held that they were the same.  We finally 
won the arguement.  I took a battery from a 750, and one from a 755, layed 
them in a copier, and made a photocopy of them.  Then I faxed the order for 
the new batteries and the photocopy to the manager I was arguing with.  He 
said 'Oh, those batteries!'.  Not the sharpest crayon in the box.
