Hi,
Just wondering if anyone's tried using an Intel EtherExpress ISA
ethernet card in a Dock 1? My system is a TP755c, running Win95; the
card only seems to work intermittantly, and when it does, performance is
very bad. The protocol I'm using is tcp/ip.
Symptoms include things like pings to the adjacent machine on the
network sometimes timing out; I can connect to an ftp server, get
listings et cetera but can't get the file downloads to go, etc. The
tcp/ip settings are correct (plugging my desktop, same card and
settings, in to the network socket works fine), and Win95 *seems* to
think the address/irq settings are also OK.
I used to have a "dial-up adapter" driver installed (for tcp/ip over a
modem); I've removed this from the Network and Device Manager control
panels. Could that be part of the problem?
Help / advice greatly appreciated,
Angus.
