bad pixels on dual-scans?

I must be wrong, but I was under the impression that dual-scan displays
didn't have the bad pixel problem. 

My ThinkPad 365XD has a white dot in the upper righthand quadrant. Yeah, I
did the red, green, blue screen test I THOUGHT WAS ONLY FOR ACTIVE MATRIX
and I got the white dot.

Dang! I'm kinda disappointed.

So, is it a bad pixel ala active matrix, or is something else going splooey?
