Paul,
I sent my wife's 755CD in for overnight repairs back in January. It
had the dreaded 755 series "lockup after it gets hot" problem. I
called on Mon. morning. Special shipping box arrived FedEx on
Tuesday morning. ThinkPad went to Fed Ex Tuesday afternoon.
ThinkPad arrived back to me Thursday morning, repaired with a new
system board and video board. I also got several new parts not
requested, such as bottom case half, and new trackpoint cat's tounge
cover, and the latest bios revision.
Unit has worked 100% perfect ever since. Needless to say, I'm
very satisfied with the service. BTW, only send in the minimum
number of parts required to replicate the problem. Don't send in
anything extra like a PC Card modem, power brick, floppy, RAM cards,
etc . . ., if it isn't part of the problem.
Good luck.
