I'm confused now after installing the latest BIOS on my 760ED, just
how to envoke the suspend or hibernation from windows 95? We observe
some bad behavior:
1. sometimes the machine goes into suspend (observing the middle
green light is lit, cover closed, then it will suddenly "wake
up" without opening the cover, then shut down for several
minute, then wake up again.
2. sometimes we bring the machine up from a cold start, go into
windows 95, use a program for a while, and the machine goes into
suspend by itself. We shut down, come back up and sometimes the
behavior repeats, sometimes we are OK for a couple of days.
This is really a pain for my wife when she is using it for
text-to-speech in public. She depends on the machine to speak for
her and is frustrated because she feels it is something she is doing.
In these cases she is using it on battery power, and it is true that
she has this occur more than me, so we are given to believe being off
the power mains is part of the problem.
We lived with this for 6 months of ownership while using the original
BIOS that came with the machine because we read of others
experiencing similar symptoms. Then several months ago we heard
about the new BIOS, loaded it, and thought things were OK, but not
so. Now the symptoms are less frequent, but troublesome none the
less. Does anyone have a suggestion, please?
