Reduced Warranty? (Was: New TP 560?)

Did anyone else notice that the warranty appears to have been reduced to
1-year across the board, even for the 7XX models? I thought the 560 being
introduced with only a 1-year warranty while the 7XX series kept the 3-year
was bad--but apparently it was merely a harbinger of what was yet to come.
Here's the snippet from the above web site, and it appears to apply to all
ThinkPads--including the 765's.

Customer Support and Service
IBM provides customers with a one-year limited warranty, International
Warranty Service and EasyServ door-to-door courier repair.4 As part of
IBM's EasyServ program, the ThinkPad is picked up by courier and expressed
to an IBM-designated service center. Once serviced, the system is returned
to a location of the customer's choice. EasyServ Plus and EasyServ On-Site
Repair Service is also available for the new ThinkPad 765 and ThinkPad 560E
models.
