Re: Introduction and the TP700c



1. Upgrading the CPU: The only CPU upgrade made for the 700 was the
50/25Mhz SLC2.  Originally this upgrade was priced at $500 later it came
down to $50.  You can not just pop in a new cpu, since it needs a
replacement bios chip as well.  I can tell you the part number for this
kit which you could probably still get from IBM Boulder parts but at a
pretty steep price.

2. Video card: internally you cannot change the video card.  If you havea
docking station (the 3550-002) you can put in an XGA or XGA2 card and use
an external monitor.  Otherwise thats it.  

3. HD upgrades.  Some companies sell a Hard drive upgrade for the 700/720
machines up to 540MB.
