Hello:
I'm new to this list as I have just become a ThinkPad owner, so I
hope that the questions that I have are appropriate. I also am not a
computer expert so bear with me.
I have been given a used TP 700c by the company to do with as I
please. Unfortunately we can't find the user's manual but I know that
the only upgrade to it has been to add memory so that it now has 16
meg and to change the O/S to Windows 95.
The questions that I have are:
First, is it worthwhile to upgrade the processor. I have seen on
IBM's website something called the Blue Lighting which is 75mhtz. Is
this a good upgrade or are there other vendors who offer a better
alternative?
Second, I can't seem to get the display to go above 16 colours. I
found that IBM has a 256 colour driver for the 700c unfortunately it
doesn't work in Windows 95. Is there a driver somewhere else that I
can use or should I consider getting a new video board. If a new
video board is the answer can anybody tell me of a good board to buy.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank You
Ian Caldwell
