Yeah, if you don't need it, then you can trash it.  Assuming you use DOS/W95 or OS/2, you do the following 
to delete it:

C:\>attrib tp?701.hib -r -a -s -h

C:\>del tp?701.hib

C:\>dir *.hib
File not found

That's usually how it's done.
Hope that helps.  And for the curious, inside the file is the name of the 701 development team members, and 
some other information about the machine.  This is found in about the first 50K.  Of course, you would rename 
the file to view it like:

C:\>rename tp?701.hib tp701.hib
