Maybe this works, but the most direct way to permanently eliminate the 
hibernate file is to go to page 4 of the Configuration Utility (Fn+F1)
and set "Enable Hibernate Mode" to [No].

By the way, if I'd received the kind of treatment from IBM that some
have described in the "Cracked Case" thread, I'd no longer be hanging
around as an IBM customer.
