Hi,
I'm new to this list. I've got a 701CS, 24 MB RAM, often have an extra
modem, Shark Avatar drive, tape drive, printer and external monitor hooked
up.
I've got two questions, the second of which I'll put in another message.
Here goes: I'm thinking of getting a processor upgrade from Evergreen
Technologies. They'll put an AMD 586-133 in the machine for about $400.
I've found out that the chip itself only costs about $40. I still think if
the upgrade will boost my good old 701 to a pentium level of performance,
the cost is worth it.
[If you'd like to see what I've found out so far:

Evergreen's web page is http://www.evertech.com
some good info is at http://www.math.hawaii.edu/~ross/cpu

I'd like to know if anyone has any opinions on this and info on other
vendors who might offer a similar service.
Thanks.
