RE: Replacement screens for TP750

Tim is right...;-}
No, I'm not saying this as flame bait...
The little plastic pieces mentioned below are different for the 750 versus 750C.
Me thinks that a little X-acto knife would fix all this.....But.
I'm damm sure my 750P display would fit on my 360CE but i haven't done so .....
The 750P is quite visible in sunlight ..not as good as a 730t tablet but better than a
360Ce active matrix. I'll try to have all 3 outside at the same time .....but today it's
raining ;-}
And yes any swap means replacing the whole LCD ASSEMBLY.

I doubt that you would be successful in just trying to replace the LCD
panel. In addition to the physical problems of fitting the 10.4" TFT in the
place of the 9.5" DSTN mono, you also have to replace the driver circuitry
and wiring harness. At that point you might as well just replace the entire
LCD assembly.

A quick scan of the hardware maintenance manual for the 750 shows that the
parts that are different between the 750 and the 750C are:

LCD assembly
Hinge cover
Status indicator assembly
Base cover assembly
Upper cover

I'm not sure how many of these would *have* to be replaced, although I'd
expect that most might be necessary just so the TFT LCD assembly would fit.

My two cents: it's not worth it. Take the $500 that you'd have to spend on
the TFT alone and put it towards a new machine. By the way, the TFT display
on my 760C is pretty much invisible outdoors, but the mono display on my
750P is fairly readable in direct sunlight.
