Re: TP 701 Memory & Modem Difficult

NT 4.0 is a memory hog and several of the apps I run are as well AND I
tend to have many of the active concurrently. The booting proces is maybe
a tad quicker but not much, and if I just have Hyperterminal active or
maybe one other active, again the difference is marginal. The difference
becomes noticeable when I have half dozen apps running concurrently.
The disk is much less active, no thrashing and switching between apps is
noticealby quicker. Was it worth the expense, well I think this will keep
me more or less content for maybe a year and then I rethink about a
replacement; we'll see.

One thing I would like to do before the 16 MB module finds a new home is
to run a standard benchmark on both configurations. If anyone knows where
I can get a NT 4.0 benchmark program, I'll run the test and report back
to the list!

Regards.
