Are you sure you didn't mean 2.1GB? If you meant 21, tell me
where I can find one (I know Seagate has a 5.25" SCSI 23GB
out now for ~$4,000.00)

on my TP701C,

I used to have Debian on mine, until I decided to dedicate all the space
to Warp, and someday get another hard drive dedicated to Linux. Debian
is nice in that you can customize it better, but I am still an "above average"
beginner to UNIX, and couldn't get all my apps to work. Slackware is good
because you can create disk sets (ie, A, B, C, etc). I have it installed on
my server and like it, but need to reinstall.

During bootup, Linux will tell you a lot about your hardware configuration,
but I have never been able to get PCMCIA working on my 701. The same
goes for sound. I can't remember the URL offhand (I send it to you if I find
it), but someone has a page called "Linux on the butterfly", and is somewhat
informative.

When setting up X Windows, type X11Setup (I think), and yes, it is case
sensitive, and you can set up X itself through a graphical interface. And
an important tip to get the PS/2 (Trackpoint II/III) mouse working is that
I think it is /dev/psmouse, not the default.
