I have been trying to find a 56k modem that will work with my 701 hyperterminal/NT4.0 setup that will run reliablly. So far I've tired the Hayes Accura 56k, and, currently the Simple Technology 56k Communicator. Both have been sporatic staying connected and when they do say connected the're sluggish; for they will download in fast bursts and then just sit ultimately the line drops. Has anyone had success with a setup similar to mine; what modem have you used and did you have to do anything special to get it to run well. BTW I'm posting this using the internal 14.4 modem that while slow, has always been very reliable; case in point I d/l'ed NT 4.0 service pack 3, all 40 MB using the internal modem. It burped on the first try after 10 MB but afer a restart it was fine, albiet slow - about 8 hrs. Thanks for any help!
