Re: 32MB SO-DIMM for 701



Two weeks ago I bought a 32M DIMM from The Chip Merchant here in San
Diego for $305 (I've heard there are better prices, but I needed it in
a hurry, and with the UPS strike they were the most convenient).  That
brought my machine from 16MB to 40MB.  I run Linux 2.0.30 on one 720MB
disk, and just loaded NT 4.0 on another.  Linux, of course, runs
significantly better; I can edit-compile-debug Common Lisp code within
emacs under X without paging, which is a big win.  And I wouldn't even
have considered running NT before.  I don't run OS/2, so I can't help
you there.
