New Thinkpad

Someone last week mentioned the upcoming (next week I think) announcment of
a TP with a new processor using the code name Tillamook, I believe, what is
this new chip a Pentium II/derivitive?  I have heard the names Tillamook and
Merced bantered about but am unclear as to what suppose to be what.   

Are we to expect innovation and the upgradability that was talked about I
wonder?
