Modem and LAN Adapter Recommendations?

Hello,

I am moving to the States and therefore my TP 760 ED will become my main
working machine. I will have to connect it to a university LAN and, in
addition, I also want to be able to connect to the Internet from home,
using a modem.
Having never before bought a PCMCIA modem or LAN adapter, I thought this
list would be a good place to ask for recommendations and experiences (I
am running Warp 4).
BTW, the modem should also, from time to time, be used in my wife´s Apple
Powerbook 190...
