FW: PCMCIA SCSI?

Try www.insight.com
They had the Sony PCMCIA SCSI plus 2X CD-rom for $80 ?
The adapter is an Adaptec 1460.
The Panasonic variation of this was ~ $100 at DAYMARK .
IT is better as the connector is non-propriatory.

I have the 4x Sony version ...it was $120
..peter..
Re your other question
Any PCMCIA SCSI is overkill for 2X , 4X CD-roms
DAMN just reread you message . You don't want a CD-rom ?
You want to talk to a CD writer ???
You mean "MediaVision" portable CDROM ?

BTW onsale has a great deal on a combo SCSI/Sound card for $60 but you have
sound already in the 365XD

Subject: PCMCIA SCSI?

I would like to have a SCSI port on our 365XD, but can get by I think just
networking to the various storage media. I noticed a newsgroup ad though
for some cheap PCMCIA SCSI cards (about $50, no I don't have the ad, just
dejanews for it) along with the last, one would hope, of the Mediagenic
portable CDROM drives (again about $50).

Just how bad is the generic PCMCIA SCSI card? Would it be fast enough to
support a 2x CDROM writer?

BTW I have the IBM port replicator, but I don't think it has SCSI, just the
normal ports plus joysticks etc.
