Hello,
From the information I seen it is not a "given" that any DVD player
will play CDs or CD-Roms. One piece of information I read recently is
that DVD uses a different color laser that cannot read CD-R disks.
DVD drives that can read CDs use two lasers (one for DVD, one for
regular CD).
