FollowUp 701 Power Supply

Hi everyone,

First a big thanks to all of you who replied regarding my dead power supply! I just wanted to let all of you know that I have in the meantime recieved a replacement from EZServe, after they put out a "Code A" for one. This apparently means the look for it worldwide...
Sadly, I didn't get the nifty, small type that I originally had, with the fold-in prongs, but what is apparently called the international version. The brick itself is a lot larger, has a longer cable to the laptop, and a huge plug to fit into the 701 - I mean huge! The cable is meant to be wrapped around the brick, and has velcro to keep it there. The major drawback in my view is that it just has a standard receptacle for power cords, which has to be supplied by, well, me. That means that to be portable, I have to lug around one of these cables as well, and they are usually very stiff. Also, this requires a grounded outlet which the previous power supply didn't need. Therefore, no more cheap extension cords, and the place I stayed in this summer positively did not have a single grounded outlet (don't ask...)!
To sum it up, the ThinkPad works, but the power supply I'm not really happy with. Luckily the Thinkpad is going to stay at home for a while...
