Hello,
I just joined the group on Friday. About two weeks ago, I
bought a 170MB Viper drive and have had no problems with it
so far. Using DriveSpace3, from Windows '95 Plus I doubled
the entire disk. I paid $130US which included shipping
(from California to Massachusetts/New Hampshire, UPS ground)
At the end of this message I have included the advert. that
I replied to to buy the disk.
The one thing I would like to do is get the machine to treat
this drive as it does the internal drive. That is in terms
of shutting it down when hibernating, etc. Does anyone know
how to do that? Specifically, when the machine hibernates
that disk is seems to get unmounted. When I open the lid
or un hibernate it some other way I have to wait for it to mount
back up. Things get even worse if I have an application up
that has a file opened on that disk.
BTW: The hardware I have is a TP701C, 40MB RAM, 360MB
internal, the PCMCIA disk (170MB), and a Xircom(SP) ethernet
card. That configuration works great, except of course how
the PCMCIA disk is handled during hibernation.
Thanks,
Peter
